Sustainability and Safety at GIK Acoustics
At GIK Acoustics, sustainability and health have always been at the core of our design philosophy. Every product is built with responsibly sourced materials and a commitment to minimizing environmental impact while maintaining the world-class acoustic performance professionals depend on.
Responsible Materials
Our acoustic treatments are made with high-quality absorbent materials that use renewable, bio-based binders and contain recycled materials wherever possible. These materials are formaldehyde-free and manufactured through low-emission processes, improving both indoor air quality and environmental sustainability. We source all wood components from suppliers that meet rigorous standards for sustainability and quality.
The absorptive core has earned the toughest indoor air quality certification in the industry, GREENGUARD™, which is certified to meet CHPS Low-Emitting Materials criteria section 01350. GIK Acoustics treatments are easy on air quality for your room, the environment, and your budget. The GREENGUARD Environmental Institute, part of UL Environment, was founded in 2001 with the mission of protecting human health and quality of life by improving indoor air quality and reducing chemical exposure. The GREENGUARD Certification Program helps manufacturers create, and helps buyers identify and trust, interior products and materials that have low chemical emissions, improving the quality of the air in which the products are used. All certified products must meet stringent emissions standards based on established chemical exposure criteria.
Indoor Air Quality and Health
Because GIK products are used in studios, classrooms, homes, and workplaces, health and safety are non-negotiable. Our absorptive cores are tested to meet strict global standards for low chemical emissions, helping maintain cleaner air and a safer indoor environment. With no added formaldehyde, phenols, or harmful dyes, our treatments are engineered to perform for decades without compromising personal well-being.
Durability and Fire Safety
GIK panels and bass traps are designed to deliver long-term reliability and safety. All standard treatments carry a Class A fire rating (ASTM E84)—the highest rating available—providing peace of mind that our products meet professional building and safety standards worldwide.
Sustainable Fabrics
All GIK products are finished in high-quality Camira Cara fabrics—made using low-impact, environmentally responsible manufacturing. The Cara line is composed of recycled polyester yarns and is certified for both fire safety and low emissions, ensuring that our treatments are not only beautiful and durable, but sustainable from fiber to finish.
Our Commitment
We believe great sound and environmental responsibility go hand in hand. By choosing GIK Acoustics, you’re investing in products that combine industry-leading acoustic performance with thoughtful material choices that support a cleaner, healthier world—today and for years to come.
