Performance You Can Trust

Every GIK product is tested at the world-renowned University of Salford, following BS EN ISO 354:2003 standards. This scientific approach not only ensures complete transparency in how our products perform, but also drives our R&D process. So every panel, bass trap, or diffuser we release is engineered to deliver results you can trust.

Product Description

Description

The GridFusor™ is manufactured in Europe to tight tolerances for excellent performance at a reasonable price. It's equally at home in a home studio or listening room as it is in a professional studio, editing room, or auditorium. It has a usable range of 600Hz to 7.5kHz. GridFusor™ are made from EPS (expanded polystyrene) so they are light enough to be easily mountable on walls, ceilings, etc. without the use of damaging adhesives or massive mounting holes while still providing excellent diffusion characteristics.

Specifications

• Dimensions: 59.5cm square, 11.7cm overall thickness
• Thirteen-root QRD diffusor design
• Easily paintable (water-based paint only). Painting will have no impact on diffusion characteristics.
• Square shape allows for easy orientation changes to scatter in multiple dimensions.
• Easy to install using small nails or double-sided tape

Materials
Camira Cara Fabrics

GIK is excited to use the Camira Cara fabric line standard in all our products. The Camira fabric will look familiar to fans of Guilford of Maine fabrics, similar to their FR701 line but with different color options. With a richer aesthetic and tactile feel and wider range of available colors compared to our previous standard offerings, Camira Cara allows every product to look as good as it performs.

Sustainability

GIK Acoustics has long prioritized sustainability as a guiding principle. We carefully select materials that balance acoustic performance with environmental responsibility, sourcing from suppliers who share our commitment to reducing waste and carbon impact. Our products use durable, recyclable components that minimize landfill waste while maintaining the highest acoustic standards.

Health & Safety

Health and safety are built into every GIK product. All materials—including fabrics, cores, and wood elements—are formaldehyde-free, low-VOC, and independently tested for indoor air quality. This ensures our treatments are safe for studios, homes, schools, and offices alike. We believe superior acoustics should never come at the expense of well-being, which is why our products are made with clean, non-toxic materials that protect both the people who use them and the spaces where they’re installed.

Care Instructions
Camira Cara Fabric

Vacuum regularly. Wipe with a damp cloth using soap and water or use proprietary upholstery shampoo. For deeper cleaning use bleach or alcohol.

Veneer Finishes

Clean with a soft cloth or soft brush, lightly dampened with kukewarm PH-neutral, soapy water. Do not use solvents or chemical cleaners, but cleaning can be done with alcohol-based cleaners. Finally, wipe with a damp cloth afterward.

A Lightweight Diffusion Solution

Ceilings, especially in taller rooms, are excellent places for diffusion. The GridFusor is a great solution as it is lightweight and very easy to install. It can also be used on walls or freestanding on other panels or traps.

Mirror-Imaged 13 Root Diffusers

Incorporating a mirror-imaged pair of 13-root diffusors, the GridFusor© provides excellent diffusion from 600 Hz to 5,000 Hz and additional scattering below and above the diffusion range. The GridFusor© is light enough to mount on ceilings and of course walls.

The Antidote to Dead Rooms

If your room is a bit too dry due to carpeted floors and a lot of absorption, the GridFusor© is a perfect solution. It is a budget friendly, lightweight solution that can be easily mounted and moved.

Lightweight, Unfinished, Paintable

The Gridfusors are made from unfinished EPS foam, so they are lightweight. They can be painted (with non-oil-based paint only) to match any decor.

FAQ

What is the GridFusor used for?

The GridFusor is a lightweight, molded diffusor that scatters sound to reduce flutter echoes and create a more natural sense of space. It’s an affordable way to add diffusion without adding absorption that deadens the room.

Where should I install the GridFusor?

The GridFusor is a great solution for ceilings due to its low weight. It is also very effective on the back wall or a control room or the walls of recording rooms. You can use the GridFusor anywhere where you want to get rid of harsh reflections without losing reverberation.

How does the GridFusor differ from wood diffusors like the Q7D or Q11D?

While the Q7D and Q11D are solid wood quadratic diffusors with deeper frequency range coverage, the GridFusor is made from lightweight molded EPS foam. It’s less expensive, lighter, easier to install in ceilings, and still very effective in the mid and high frequencies.

Can I mix GridFusors with absorptive panels?

Yes. In fact, combining GridFusors with broadband absorbers or bass traps is one of the best strategies for achieving a balanced acoustic environment. The absorbers handle decay control, while the GridFusors keep the room lively and open without being harsh.
