We were thrilled to see Scottish producer and studio owner Paul Third feature the new GIK Acoustics PIB Modular Booth Mark II on his YouTube channel. Paul, who runs a fully equipped multi-room studio, shared an in-depth look at how the PIB Vocal Booth Pro has improved both his workflow and the quality of his vocal recordings.

Originally recording vocals in a separate live room, Paul found that constant back-and-forth between rooms slowed down sessions and disrupted communication. The PIB’s modular design solved both problems: creating a dry, intimate vocal booth right inside his control room that doubles as effective broadband acoustic treatment. He notes the diffusion panels on the booth’s rear not only enhance isolation but also help manage reflections in the room itself.

Paul also compared the PIB to traditional foam-lined vocal booths, explaining that the PIB’s true broadband absorption delivers a much clearer, more natural recording without the low-mid muddiness that foam can introduce. He even shared before-and-after vocal takes with artist Levi Kelly, demonstrating how the PIB setup produced a cleaner, more emotive, and better-defined vocal sound.

Huge thanks to Paul Third for the detailed and thoughtful review. His real-world testing perfectly captures how the new PIB Vocal Booth Pro brings professional-grade isolation, clarity, and flexibility to any studio.
