Every GIK product is tested at the world-renowned University of Salford, following BS EN ISO 354:2003 standards. This scientific approach not only ensures complete transparency in how our products perform, but also drives our R&D process. So every panel, bass trap, or diffuser we release is engineered to deliver results you can trust.

Product Description

Description

FlexRange® Acoustic Panels, formally known as 242, are high-performance broadband solutions designed to tame reflections, flutter echo, and reverberation in any space where clarity matters. With a high-qualty absorption “two-frame” core and built-in air gap, they deliver superior absorption across mid and high frequencies, plus better low-end control than thinner foam alternatives. Mount them on walls or ceilings (including cloud setups), and choose from multiple quality fabrics. Perfect for studios, hi-fi listening rooms, home theaters, offices, and commercial spaces where sound quality can’t be left to chance.

Materials
Camira Cara Fabrics

GIK is excited to use the Camira Cara fabric line standard in all our products. The Camira fabric will look familiar to fans of Guilford of Maine fabrics, similar to their FR701 line but with different color options. With a richer aesthetic and tactile feel and wider range of available colors compared to our previous standard offerings, Camira Cara allows every product to look as good as it performs.

Sustainability

GIK Acoustics has long prioritized sustainability as a guiding principle. We carefully select materials that balance acoustic performance with environmental responsibility, sourcing from suppliers who share our commitment to reducing waste and carbon impact. Our products use durable, recyclable components that minimize landfill waste while maintaining the highest acoustic standards.

Health & Safety

Health and safety are built into every GIK product. All materials—including fabrics, cores, and wood elements—are formaldehyde-free, low-VOC, and independently tested for indoor air quality. This ensures our treatments are safe for studios, homes, schools, and offices alike. We believe superior acoustics should never come at the expense of well-being, which is why our products are made with clean, non-toxic materials that protect both the people who use them and the spaces where they’re installed.

Care Instructions
Camira Cara Fabric

Vacuum regularly. Wipe with a damp cloth using soap and water or use proprietary upholstery shampoo. For deeper cleaning use bleach or alcohol.

Veneer Finishes

Clean with a soft cloth or soft brush, lightly dampened with kukewarm PH-neutral, soapy water. Do not use solvents or chemical cleaners, but cleaning can be done with alcohol-based cleaners. Finally, wipe with a damp cloth afterward.

Clarity, Backed by Science

The FlexRange® Acoustic Panel combines patented design, premium materials, and transparent lab testing to deliver broadband absorption that’s as reliable as it is effective. Built for pros, trusted worldwide, and styled to fit any room.

Pro-Level Sound Control

The FlexRange® Acoustic Panel is engineered to tackle the real problems in any room—flutter echoes, harsh reflections, and uncontrolled reverb. Its broadband absorption design ensures that what you hear is accurate and consistent, whether you’re mixing in a professional studio, watching movies in your home theater, or improving speech clarity in an office.

Built-In Air Gap & Two-Frame Design

The innovative two-frame construction integrates an air gap behind the panel, boosting low-frequency performance without adding bulk. The result: superior bass absorption, clean lines, and easy installation on walls or ceilings.

Custom Finish & Fit

Available in 20+ fabric colours and custom sizes, the FlexRange® Panel adapts to your style as well as your sound. Add optional scatter plates for diffusion or mount them as ceiling clouds to create a professional space that looks as good as it sounds.

FAQ

What frequencies does the FlexRange® Acoustic Panel absorb best?

It’s strongest across mid and high frequencies (250 Hz and above) where reflections and echoes interfere most. Thanks to its rigid core and built-in air gap, it also provides meaningful low-mid and some upper bass absorption—something foam panels can’t match.

Where should I place these panels?

Start with reflection points—side walls, ceiling above your mix position, or the front wall. Adding more panels evenly across the room reduces reverberation, balances your sound, and improves accuracy in both studio and home theater settings.

What materials are used in the construction?

FlexRange® Panels are built with a mineral wool core for consistent absorption, framed for durability, and wrapped in non-toxic, fire-rated fabrics. They’re safe for home use and engineered for professional performance.

Can I customize the look and size?

Yes. Panels come in multiple standard shapes and sizes, but custom dimensions are available. You can also choose from a wide range of Camira Cara fabrics for a finish that fits your décor.
