Performance You Can Trust

Every GIK product is tested at the world-renowned University of Salford, following BS EN ISO 354:2003 standards. This scientific approach not only ensures complete transparency in how our products perform, but also drives our R&D process. So every panel, bass trap, or diffuser we release is engineered to deliver results you can trust.

Product Description

Description

The FlexRange® Bass Trap Panels unifies the legacy 244 and Monster panels into one powerful family—now available in multiple thicknesses, clearly labeled by the lowest frequencies they target: 90 Hz, 70Hz, or the new 50 Hz for our most powerful low-end FlexRange absorption yet. Each model is available in Full Range or Range Limiter tuning to balance bass control with room liveliness. With our patented two-frame design, built-in air gap, and optional scatter plates under the fabric, the FlexRange® delivers professional-grade, versatile bass control you can tailor to your exact needs.

Materials
Camira Cara Fabrics

GIK is excited to use the Camira Cara fabric line standard in all our products. The Camira fabric will look familiar to fans of Guilford of Maine fabrics, similar to their FR701 line but with different color options. With a richer aesthetic and tactile feel and wider range of available colors compared to our previous standard offerings, Camira Cara allows every product to look as good as it performs.

Sustainability

GIK Acoustics has long prioritized sustainability as a guiding principle. We carefully select materials that balance acoustic performance with environmental responsibility, sourcing from suppliers who share our commitment to reducing waste and carbon impact. Our products use durable, recyclable components that minimize landfill waste while maintaining the highest acoustic standards.

Health & Safety

Health and safety are built into every GIK product. All materials—including fabrics, cores, and wood elements—are formaldehyde-free, low-VOC, and independently tested for indoor air quality. This ensures our treatments are safe for studios, homes, schools, and offices alike. We believe superior acoustics should never come at the expense of well-being, which is why our products are made with clean, non-toxic materials that protect both the people who use them and the spaces where they’re installed.

Care Instructions
Camira Cara Fabric

Vacuum regularly. Wipe with a damp cloth using soap and water or use proprietary upholstery shampoo. For deeper cleaning use bleach or alcohol.

Veneer Finishes

Clean with a soft cloth or soft brush, lightly dampened with kukewarm PH-neutral, soapy water. Do not use solvents or chemical cleaners, but cleaning can be done with alcohol-based cleaners. Finally, wipe with a damp cloth afterward.

Control the Low End, Down to 50 Hz

From the clarity of the 244 (90 Hz) to the depth of the Monster (70 Hz)—and now a new 50 Hz option—the FlexRange® Bass Trap Panel puts world-class bass control in your hands. Pick your thickness, choose your tuning, and build a room where mixes translate, low end is tight, and creativity flows.

Depth by Frequency: 90 Hz, 70 Hz, 50 Hz

Not every room has the same bass problems, which is why the FlexRange® Bass Trap Panel comes in three thicknesses, each labeled by its effective low-end reach. The 12cm (90 Hz) version is ideal for tackling upper-bass resonances and tightening up smaller rooms or first reflection points. The 17cm (70 Hz) model digs deeper into modal build-up, making it perfect for corners or larger listening spaces where bass lingers. The new 22cm (50 Hz) variant is our most powerful option, designed to tame those sub-bass frequencies that shake walls and throw off mix translation. By aligning thickness with target frequencies, you can select the right panel for your room’s specific challenges with confidence.

Patented FlexRange® Tuning

Every FlexRange® Bass Trap Panel is available with our patented FlexRange® Technology, giving you the choice between Full Range absorption or a Range Limiter membrane. Full Range versions provide broadband control across the spectrum—ideal for reflection points where clarity and balance matter most. Range Limiter versions focus absorption into the lowest frequencies, leaving mids and highs more lively, which helps preserve the natural feel of your space. This flexibility means you can design a treatment strategy that balances accuracy, musicality, and comfort, whether you’re mixing, mastering, or simply listening.

Built-In Air Gap & Optional Diffusion

Unlike flat panels that need additional spacing to perform at their best, the FlexRange® Bass Trap Panel is engineered with a two-frame system that builds in its own air gap. This dramatically improves low-frequency absorption efficiency without adding bulk to the design. For even greater versatility, optional scatter plates can be added to blend absorption with diffusion. This keeps rooms from sounding too “dead” while maintaining control over bass and mids—giving you a space that’s accurate for critical listening yet still inspiring for creative work.

FAQ

What’s the difference between 90 Hz, 70 Hz, and 50 Hz models?

The number corresponds to the lowest frequencies each trap effectively controls. 90 Hz (12cm) handles upper-bass buildup and reflections. 70 Hz (17cm) digs deeper for fuller low-end control. 50 Hz (22cm) targets the most stubborn, room-shaking bass problems.

Should I choose Full Range or Range Limiter?

Full Range absorbs broadly, making it great for first reflection points. Range Limiter pushes absorption toward the lows—ideal when you need strong bass control without over-damping mids and highs.

Where should I place these panels?

Start with corners, where bass builds up most. For clarity and imaging, also treat sidewall and ceiling reflection points. Use thicker (70/50 Hz) models in corners and 90 Hz versions at reflections for balance.

Can I add diffusion to these panels?

Yes—optional scatter plates add diffusion to absorption, keeping rooms lively while taming bass and mids. Perfect when you want control and character.

Can I get both a Range Limiter and a Scatter Plate?

No, we don't recommend it, as each add-on will ruin the other's performance. One or the other.
