Performance You Can Trust

Every GIK product is tested at the world-renowned University of Salford, following BS EN ISO 354:2003 standards. This scientific approach not only ensures complete transparency in how our products perform, but also drives our R&D process. So every panel, bass trap, or diffuser we release is engineered to deliver results you can trust.

Product Description

Description

Maximize acoustic performance in minimal space with the GIK TriTrap™ Corner Bass Trap. Achieving proper bass response in a music room (listening or recording) requires strategic acoustic treatment, with corners among the most critical areas to address. The TriTraps™ are an ultra-effective solution, designed specifically to stack in corners with no installation, optimizing low-frequency absorption while taking up minimal floor space.

Unlike thick acoustic panels that require wall installation, the TriTraps™ are freestanding, stackable corner bass traps, making it an ideal choice for small rooms, home studios, audiophile listening rooms, home theaters, and recording studios where we want the sweet spot between pro performance with a minimal footprint.

FlexRange Technology

The standard Tri-Trap is a broadband absorber, absorbing both bass (good for high end speakers and subwoofers) and higher midrange and treble. Or, you can add Range Limiters for even better bass absorption, with less mid/treble absorption for a more neutral-sounding room for larger installations. Or you can add a Scatter Plate under the fabric, which reduces mid/treble absorption and adds scattering & diffusion.

Materials
Camira Cara Fabrics

GIK is excited to use the Camira Cara fabric line standard in all our products. The Camira fabric will look familiar to fans of Guilford of Maine fabrics, similar to their FR701 line but with different color options. With a richer aesthetic and tactile feel and wider range of available colors compared to our previous standard offerings, Camira Cara allows every product to look as good as it performs.

Sustainability

GIK Acoustics has long prioritized sustainability as a guiding principle. We carefully select materials that balance acoustic performance with environmental responsibility, sourcing from suppliers who share our commitment to reducing waste and carbon impact. Our products use durable, recyclable components that minimize landfill waste while maintaining the highest acoustic standards.

Health & Safety

Health and safety are built into every GIK product. All materials—including fabrics, cores, and wood elements—are formaldehyde-free, low-VOC, and independently tested for indoor air quality. This ensures our treatments are safe for studios, homes, schools, and offices alike. We believe superior acoustics should never come at the expense of well-being, which is why our products are made with clean, non-toxic materials that protect both the people who use them and the spaces where they’re installed.

Care Instructions
Camira Cara Fabric

Vacuum regularly. Wipe with a damp cloth using soap and water or use proprietary upholstery shampoo. For deeper cleaning use bleach or alcohol.

Veneer Finishes

Clean with a soft cloth or soft brush, lightly dampened with kukewarm PH-neutral, soapy water. Do not use solvents or chemical cleaners, but cleaning can be done with alcohol-based cleaners. Finally, wipe with a damp cloth afterward.

Why Choose the Tri-Trap?

When it comes to corner bass traps, like all areas of acoustics, most of performance is about coverage area — how many square feet of bass trapping are we adding to the room? The Tri-Trap’s unique design allows you to stack compact corner traps from floor to ceiling, creating an unobtrusive, high-performance bass buildup solution without permanent installation.

Tri-Traps take up the least amount of corner space of all the options, but are still outstanding performers within their smaller footprint. And, with GIK’s FlexRange Technology, we can add Range Limiters to the Tri-Traps for even better low-end performance, without overdamping the treble. Using Range Limiters on corner bass traps, along with strategic deployment of diffusers, can help us prevent the room from sounding too dead with overdamped midrange and treble once we’ve got enough bass traps in the room to really fix the bass response.

A Compact Bass Performer

The Tri Trap is a space-saving bass trap that tucks neatly into corners while still offering serious low-end control. Stackable and freestanding, they require no mounting—just place and stack them up to ceiling height for better absorption. Available in Standard, Demi, and custom sizes, you can build a Tri Trap stack to any height you need. Built with high quality absorbent material, wood interior frames, and fabric (not foam), they deliver reliable broadband performance in any size room.

Simple Setup & Install

Traditional corner bass traps often require fasteners, brackets, or adhesives, making them difficult to install. The Tri-Trap’s freestanding design eliminates this hassle. Simply position a Tri-Trap in each tri-corner of your room. Stack additional units to reach full corner height for increased effectiveness.

For best results with 240cm and above ceilings, use two Tri-Traps per corner for full-height stacking, ensuring complete coverage from floor to ceiling. If you have taller ceilings, you can stack more, as well as use our Demi- or Custom-sized Tri-Traps to match lower ceiling height.

What Kinds of Rooms benefit from the Tri-Trap?

Tri Traps improve clarity and balance in any room where we want to improve the bass from a limited footprint. In recording studios and home studios, they reduce resonances so recordings and mixes sound more natural and accurate. In home theaters, they prevent bass buildup for cleaner dialogue and effects. Audiophile listening rooms benefit from a tighter, more focused soundstage with cleaner low‑end. Even small rooms and live rooms see major improvements, as Tri Traps control room modes and standing waves that otherwise distort instruments, voices, and playback.

FAQ

How do Tri Traps compare to Turbo Traps or Soffits?

Tri Traps are a space-efficient solution designed to fit seamlessly into corners. They can't go as deep as Turbo Traps or Soffits, because they are much smaller. Tri Traps provide excellent bass control, including deep bass with Range Limiters installed on them, while taking up much less space in the room.

Can I stack Tri Traps to treat a full corner?

Yes. Tri Traps are designed to be stackable, allowing you to build full-height corner stacks for improved bass control. Taller stacks increase surface area and make the treatment more effective.

When should I use Range Limiters on Tri Traps?

Adding Range Limiters improves absorption below 100Hz while reducing absorption above that range. This makes them ideal in mixing or listening rooms where deep bass control is critical. However, for recording spaces with voice or acoustic instruments, it’s often better to leave the Range Limiters off to preserve stronger absorption above 100Hz and maintain a more natural treble balance.

Do Tri Traps affect treble frequencies?

Yes. Without Range Limiters, they absorb evenly across bass, midrange, and treble for a broadband effect. With Range Limiters, treble absorption is reduced, which can help preserve brightness in the room when desired.
